Description of Significance THE GARFIELD COUNTY COURTHOUSE WAS BUILT IN 1934 IN COOPERATION WITH THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY ADMINISTRATION OF PUBLIC WORKS. THIS BEAUTIFUL THREE-STORY STONE BLOCK BUILDING FEATURES ART DECO STYLING WITH STEPPED FACADE AND VERTICAL LINES. THE BUILDING WAS DESIGNED BY THE RENOWNED ARCHITECTURAL FIRM OF HAWK AND PARR. LISTED IN NATIONAL REGISTER 8/23/84.
